Me in Jesus’ Name [Podcast]

Mark 9:30-50

Where has an interest in your own ambition kept you from what God wants for your life? What do you need to remove that keeps you from greater devotion to God’s interests? Jesus challenged His followers to make painful decisions for the sake of their spiritual survival.

Self-interest leads to self-deception leads to self-destruction. Instead, Jesus says you need to pursue self-sacrifice.

What’s for Now and What’s for Later [Podcast]

Mark 8:34-9:13

The cross reveals our expectations. How do you respond to the harsh reality of self-sacrifice? Jesus said: “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” When you hear those words, don’t you too want to run after your own ambitions? Isn’t it interesting that deep down we all know the crucial issue in our turning to God is the need to surrender our will.

Will you make it your passion to live for Christ now, knowing you will live with Christ later?

I Can See Clearly Now [Podcast]

Mark 8:14-35

After asking His disciples: “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?” Jesus took them on a field trip to Bethsaida and Caesarea Philippi. With His miracles and messages He teaches His disciples they only have a partial understanding of Him. How often we too have ears and eyes but fail to understand. Our picture of Christ—though accurate—is always limited.

His love which often leads us to painful places is bigger and grander than we can fathom.

Serving in the Lip Service [Podcast]

Mark 7:1-23
Jesus reminds us that a person’s appearance and even behavior can be misleading. There were people in Jesus’ day who looked impressive, but their hearts were far from God. They drew near to God with their lips—their words—but that’s it.

Let’s look beyond our starched shirts and beautiful blouses to the heart that lies beneath them. Evaluate the product of your heart. Do you strive for purity inside as well as out?
