It’s awful uncomfortable to straddle a fence. The same is true in the spiritual life.
Jesus’ namesake, Joshua, stood in the ancient town of Shechem and challenged Israel to leave their idols, serving God in “sincerity and truth.” Jesus later would stand in that same location and challenge a woman to leave her idols and worship God in “spirit and truth.”
God gives you today as your hour of decision—to choose “this day, whom you will serve.”
