Leviticus 23:1-3
In spite of our busy schedules, rest does not necessarily follow exhaustion. Sometimes we simply need to stop working and focus on God. For the Hebrews, the Sabbath meant more than regaining strength for another week; it meant worship and service.
While Christians are not bound by the Sabbath, “there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.” It begins by ceasing working for salvation and devoting oneself—not just one day—but daily, “resting” in that security.
