Leviticus 23:9-14
Our meaning for “hope” often means nothing more than wishful thinking. “I hope it doesn’t rain.” “I hope to come soon.”
But God uses the term differently—and so can we. The Feast of Firstfruits pointed to Jesus’ resurrection (1 Cor. 15:20), “the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” Just as Christ rose, we have hope in God’s future provision of our own resurrection.
